Professor Sir J Fraser Stoddart, University of Birmingham alumnus and winner of the 2016 Nobel Prize for Chemistry, gave his guest lecture at the University  on the evening of Tuesday, Nov 1, 2016. Sir Fraser, who received a Nobel Prize earlier this month alongside his colleagues Jean-Pierre Sauvage and Bernard L. Feringa for their work into the design and synthesis of molecular machines, presented a lecture entitled ‘The Nature of the Mechanical Bond : From Molecules to Machines’ at the University’s School of Chemistry.
