On the morning of 28th April, Professor Xiao-Ping Zhang, Director of Smart Grid of Birmingham Energy Institute, and Professor Tim Green, Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering School in Imperial College London, were invited by the Institute (Smart Grid Research Institute of State Grid Corporation of China) for a seminar. CAO Junzheng (Chief Engineer of DC Transmission Research Institute), An’ Ting (expert of Thousands of People Plan), WU Xueguang(expert of Thousands of People Plan) and relevant technicians took part in this academic exchange.

In the seminar, Professor Xiao-Ping Zhang introduced the scope and structure of Global Power Energy Internet, the key technologies and main challenges faced by HVDC technologies in the context of Third Energy Industrial Revolution, as well as the technology development status all over the world and the achievement made by the University of Birmingham.
